What to do after you have cleared Psoriasis using natural remedies. If you have followed my story over the years, most are aware that I had Psoriasis and Autoimmune for over 20 years. After having medication after medication fail to help me to clear my skin, I was disillusioned and depressed, covered 70 to 80% with plaques and Psoriasis outbreaks. I had enough. Took matters into my own hands and with the help of education, natural health professionals and all the great info on the internet, I researched, tried numerous remedies until my skin cleared up completely using changes in diet and natural remedies. It is now 4 years later and I am happy to say that I am still clear and I have transitioned into eating normally after following my Psoriasis diet strictly for so long.
Here's a step by step guide of what to do once the skin is completely clear.
We all know that there is no cure for Psoriasis, but what can be achieved is clear skin. What I discovered after so many years, is that my skin remained clear, long term, once I cleared it completely 100% with natural remedies. So, my suggestion, if you ae following natural healing, is to follow my Psoriasis diet until the skin is completely clear and there are no more outbreaks visible. Once this is sustained for at least 4 months, it is time transition off the diet.
Instead of rushing to eat large amounts of processed food which we are tempted to do after following the diet for so long, you need to add in forbidden foods slowly. I began my transition back to normal eating with first, adding in clean whole foods which were originally forbidden on the Psoriasis Diet. I sustained this for 3 weeks minimum. For example I began to eat potatoes and tomatoes on the first few weeks week. Then on the I added in nuts and finally, milk and cheese. It is important to sustain these new changes for an extra 3 weeks for a total of 6 weeks before continuing to add in other foods. This method helps you to identify if any foods trigger Psoriasis again and to expose your body slowly to forbidden foods.
The issue I have with AIP diet is the re-introduction of foods too soon. In my experience, when I began to eat forbidden foods, before being 100% clear, the result was always a flare up. But slow re-introduction over weeks has helped me to remain clear 4 years later with no signs of Psoriasis. Today, I eat normal. i eat all foods good and bad in moderation.
